A Note on Archiving

My apologies for links which may be dead. Many newspapers, especially Canadian and Eastern European ones, do not maintain the URLs of articles beyond a few days. Some move them to other addresses or begin charging for access. Many reuse the same URLs for new articles the following day. (Many American and European publications, on the other hand, maintain their articles for months or even years, at a durable URL.)

I have not made copies of these articles, and cannot take the time to ensure that all the links are current. (I've had to chose whether to apply my limited time and resources to finding new material, or to maintaining the old links.) I've left the old links in (even when I know they are bad) in the hope that serious researchers may be able to use this outdated information to track down the originals, maybe even through offline means.

Again, I know its frustrating when you get "File not Found". Please bear with me. If you should locate a missing article at a new location, please send me the new URL and I will correct my links.
